Tethys

Tethys is a Saturnian moon, fifth in size among the planet's satellites.[3]

History

Giovanni Cassini discovered Tethys on March 21, 1684.[3] Voyager 2 observed Tethys from roughly one million kilometres away.[4]

Findings

JPL lists Tethys's mean radius as 531.10 kilometres.[1] Odysseus Crater spans 400 kilometres in diameter.[3] NASA characterizes Tethys as a cold, airless body with a surface marked by impact scars.[3] Mapped named landforms on Tethys include chasmata, craters, and mountains.[2]
