Deimos

Mars has two moons, and Deimos is the smaller one.[1] Its three dimensions are 15, 12, and 11 kilometres.[1]

History

Asaph Hall discovered Deimos on August 11, 1877.[1]

Findings

Deimos's widest impact hollow is roughly 2.3 kilometres across.[1] Some impact depressions have been partly buried, leaving Deimos with a smoother appearance.[1] According to JPL, Deimos has a 6.2-kilometre mean radius.[2] Deimos is one of the Mars Express mission's targets, according to ESA.[3]
